I apologize if this is answered in some other thread but I have noticed a couple of players have been released. Can we just do that with no penalty? Or does some number of their salary still sting us for the year?

Yes half there salary still affects your salary for the duration of there would be contract. So like when Colts released Moss at 2011 for 1.6M he still has .8M of Moss's contract on his salary

Okay. So I don't get how the Colts just released Stafford to still have 2.3 count against him only to sign Beanie Wells at 10.5 to put him near 200M in salary.
What is protocol whenever someone over-signs like that?

I didn't release Stafford to sign Beanie...I released him to sign Brown...if they helps with the clarification. But I would like to know what the rule for this is as well because the Titans went over the cap as well with the bid of 10M for Beanie Wells. I bid 9.6M because I knew the Titans couldn't go over that without releasing a player. Also, I would like to know what the rule is for editing during a bid. If you edit a bid doesn't reset the 24 hour clock just like a new bid?
