After the 3 players kept on your rosters as franchise players the rest of the rosters will be picked based off an auction draft on this forum
The amount of money that is bid and won on a player will be his salary for the next year.
For Example: If Giants win Tom Brady in an auction for 34M through the year 2012 , then Brady's contract will be 34M through the 2012 season

Do you have an overall cap #? I picked my franchised players already, but I'm not sure what the cap # is?

The cap has not been decided yet. It will be before the auction starts though

that is part of why we are waiting. most of the players franchised will be the highest paid on everyone's team so we are waiting to see what kind of cap will be needed to accommodate franchising players like this

Just a suggestion, but that seems backwards to me. As an owner I don't want to pick 3 guys and hope they fit in nicely under the cap. I would rather know the cap and see who I would want to keep based on their current salaries.
Expample, say I franchise Andre Johnson and he's at 8 Mill per year, then I find out... The Cap is 20 Mill thats an average of 1 Mill per player If the Cap is instead 50 Mill thats an average of 2.5 Mill per player
In the 20Mill scenerio AJ is equal to 8 average player's salaries which doesn't make owning him very valuable
In the 50 Mill scenerio AJ is equal to close to 3 average player's salaries which makes him much more valuable to own and trade.
Not trying to make this confusing, but I think a Salary Cap # needs to be established first.
Hopefully you find my commentary as constructive feedback/brainstorming rather then complaining and bitching.
Thanks

We will make sure it all fits nicely under the cap. There should not be nay situation where someone cannot build a team with the remaining. We have numbers in mind for the salary cap what we are waiting on from making a final decision is whether we will go with the players actual salary or find a way to base a salary off of their real one. Most likely the players kept will be the most valuable and therefor have some of the biggest contracts anyway. They will most likely be on par with those players of equal value that are put in the auction. The franchise tag was just a way for people to get three players from a favorite team or a team that they wanted to see players work together from. The salary cap will be established within the next few days, we just need to crunch a few numbers to get an exact number. Like I said we have rough estimates its just getting an exact number down at this point.

Most likely the cap will be over 100 Million probably closer to 2 or 300 just to have realistic contracts

How about a snake draft with the salary as per the real salary of the player. Essentially allowing the Rosters to cap off at a nice number. With the auction we will basically have 16+ teams bidding on players which will skew the salaries I believe. Just a suggestion..

If you've ever been in a league like this one, the bidding part is the most exciting part of the league. With the cap # the league has been given, it will skew the salaries higher then real salaries. (NFL is about 130 Million for 53 Players, which is about 2.5 million per player) The # they came up with is, I think? 180 Million for 20 Players so that will be 9 Million per Player. All that means is that the 3 keepers we start with will be great values in this league compared to what players are going to be paid through bidding. This is Fantasy football, so If I'm paying a guy 30 Million a year in this league comapred to the 8 million he really makes, it doesn't really matter. Supply and Demand and the Salary Cap will equal everything out.

Yeah it will be interesting to see how people value certain players, for example Peyton Hillis contract is only around 1 million but im sure some people might bid double digits for him. Yes i agree we do need it going soon. We just need to get our last two guys set up soon and then we will start our college draft. Were hoping to be able to start the college draft by the middle of next week
